When we have lost someone dear to us it is often a painful and emotional time. A good funeral director is there to provide help with all the practical arrangements and to liaise with the church as required. The Christian Minister will help you plan the service and offer pastoral and spiritual support as needed.
If you would like someone to take your service from St Mary’s, Slaugham or St Mark’s, Staplefield please the church office on 01444 400221.
A full service can take place in church or at a local crematorium. A church service frees you from the pressure of time constraint and can also take place before or after a short committal service at the crematorium. But, of course, we are willing to take the full service at the crematorium if requested.
Both churches currently have space for the burial of a body and areas set aside for the interment of cremated remains. There are regulations governing this for churchyards and the type of memorial allowed which can be given at a later date. Permission for the interment of a person is usually allowed if they have been resident in the Parish at any time, a regular worshipper or had a strong tie with the church (i.e. other close relatives interred there).
We hope the above is helpful at this initial stage. Please do not hesitate to contact us direct or through your chosen funeral director.
